Volkswagen Touareg 2019 adopts the latest dimensions and advanced
technology.
China is the biggest market for the Volkswagen Touareg and the brand
isn't afraid to admit it. In addition, its new generation has been
presented precisely in Beijing. It demonstrates the technological
achievements of the Wolfsburg company in terms of management,
connectivity and security.
The 2019 Volkwagen Touareg represents the third generation
of the brand's flagship SUV. It has already sold around one million
units worldwide. Now it's slightly wider and longer to increase
interior volume, both for passengers and for cargo. With 4,878mm
long (+77mm compared to the previous generation) and 1,984mm wide,
there is now room for 810 liters - with the rear seat in place.
Despite being taller, Volkswagen has managed to save 106 kg in
this new generation due to the use of lightweight materials.
48% of the new Touareg is aluminum, while 52% is advanced steel.
The DNA of the T-Prime GTE concept brought to production
The original inspiration for the 2019 Volkswagen Touareg is in the
Concept T-Prime GTE that the brand presented a few days ago.
The production model comes with a very similar light show! which
can also be fitted with LED matrix lighting.
The T-Prime GTE concept also inherits from the cabin.
In the age of digitalization, Volkswagen is breaking out with an
Innovision Cockpit dashboard. This includes a large 12-inch screen
to access vehicle information. Navigation, communication and
entertainment. There's also a 15-inch touchscreen for the new
Discover Premium infotainment system.
The premium flashes continue with the ability to choose 30 colors of
ambient lighting for the cabin! and the introduction of a 127 x 82 cm
panoramic roof, the largest ever built into any Volkswagen model.
Add to the list a 360º vision camera! a head-up display and many
features not previously seen in some models of the German company.
Volkswagen innovation
The 2019 Volkswagen Touareg is responsible for creating,
for example, the night vision system to detect people and animals.
There is also the Autonomous Driving Assistant for speeds below 60%.
As well as the Front Cross Traffic Assist system which reacts to
cross traffic in front of the vehicle.
The 2019 Touareg includes new air suspension. A tilt stabilization
system that uses electromechanically controlled anti-roll bars.
This is to reduce weight transfer and promote safer driving. Add
an advanced 4Motion all-wheel drive system with ten drive modes,
five for Off-Road and the rest for tarmac.
When it comes to engines, there are a lot of choices when it comes
to diesel. It has a pair of 231 and 286 hp V6 TDI engines, as well
as a 421 hp V8 TDI. Gasoline is limited to a single 340 hp V6 engine.
For China, there will be a plug-in hybrid version with
characteristics similar to those of the prototype, with 367 hp.
All versions feature an eight-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission.
