Fiat 500 Hybrid 2020 - New Hybrid variant with 3 cylinder engine.

The all-new Fiat 500 Hybrid will benefit from technical and aesthetic updates.

Aesthetically, the Fiat 500 Hybrid is identical to the standard 500.  With the exception of the introduction to the range of a new blue color for the bodywork which looks really good on you.  You can only tell that this is a special edition by the "Hybrid" emblem on the back of the car.

The Fiat 500 and Fiat Panda, undisputed leaders in city cars, will be the first FCA Group models in their category to adopt the new hybrid technology.  The new Fiat 500 and Panda Hybrid, available in February and March 2020 respectively, will once again revolutionize urban mobility, making the hybrid accessible to all and thus becoming the new European benchmark for electrified urban mobility.

Motorization

The Fiat 500 Hybrid will therefore be fitted with a system consisting of the naturally aspirated 70 HP Firefly 1.0 three-cylinder engine and a small belt-driven electric motor.  Not surprisingly, the acronym used to denote the 12 V technology adopted is BSG.  Belt driven starter generator.  It is therefore the simplest architecture of the mild hybrid system, in which the electric motor replaces the alternator and the starter.

Start & Stop

The 500 hybrid gains the Start & Stop system, but above all gains in efficiency!  given the 25, 6 km / liter accredited and 90 g / km of CO2 that allow it to fall within the emission limits.  The hybrid system, in fact, fills the void left by the announced farewell to the 95 hp 1.3 HP Multijet diesel engine.  Hybrid drive will be available for all trim levels and for the convertible version.

Interior

Inside, the upholstery of the seats is therefore true to the sustainable philosophy of the entire project.  A perfect combination with FCA Mild Hybrid technology and the innovative spirit of the iconic Fiat Panda and Fiat 500. The Launch Edition seats are the first in the automotive sector to be partly realized with SEAQUAL® YARN!  whose weaving produces a special material, certified by SEAQUAL INITIATIVE.  Derived from recycled plastic: 10% comes from the sea and 90% from the land.  SEAQUAL® YARN is produced by turning plastics collected in the sea into polyethylene terephthalate flakes.  Official website
