Aston Martin DBX 2021 |
The DBX is built on a new all-aluminum body structure.
At a preliminary event for the 2021 Aston Martin DBX, the automaker's CEO Andy Palmer was blunt. “This is clearly the most important car the company has ever built since its first car,” he told Road & Track.
Aston Martin DBX exterior
The DBX certainly looks like an Aston Martin. The front fascia appears to have been ripped straight from a DB11, while the rear is reminiscent of the Vantage. The bodywork is bonded aluminum, similar to Aston sports cars. This construction method allowed for greater torsional stiffness than competing SUVs, as well as lower curb weight, according to Aston. However, at 2,240 kg, the DBX is not a Mazda Miata.
Motorization
As previously revealed by Aston, the DBX is powered by the same turbocharged V8 that is used in the Vantage and DB11. Sourced from Mercedes-AMG, the engine produces 542 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque in the DBX. All-wheel drive (with a carbon fiber driveshaft, to save weight) and a nine-speed automatic transmission are standard. Aston claims the DBX will do zero to 100 km / h in 4.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 290 km / h. That's pretty good for an SUV, but a few details behind the Lamborghini Urus, as well as the faster versions of the Porsche Cayenne and Bentley Bentayga.
Inside
The SUV has a 10.25 inch infotainment screen (borrowed from Mercedes)! As well as a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel. Apple CarPlay is standard, but Android Auto is not available. The standard Harman audio system has 800 watts and 14 speakers. The latter is covered with leather instead of a traditional wire mesh.
Rate
The 2021 Aston Martin DBX is priced at $ 189,900. Aston accepts orders. The DBX will be_built in a new factory. This one located on a former base of the Royal Air Force in Wales. Official site
